I hope this update finds everyone well and enjoying this beautiful sunny day. Normally by this time, we'd have the banding station up and running, and perhaps even capturing our first migrants! Unfortunately this isn't a normal year, and the board and staff at the Alaska Songbird Institute have been busy staying tuned and adapting responsibility to the implications of the global pandemic. In all our efforts we strive to put health and safety first, and it is with this in mind that we have decided to cancel our spring banding season.
Despite the challenges that COVID-19 has presented for us all in 2020, the Alaska Songbird Institute is excited and hopeful for the future. We hope that you'll stay in touch and help us with some awesome new and ongoing projects!
